Rabbit Adoption

A Hutch is Not Enough

The RWAF recommends a minimum hutch size of 6" x 2" x 2", which will allow rabbits some room to move and also stand on their hind legs. This also gives enough space for food, toilet and sleeping areas to be kept apart. A rabbit should have space for 3 hops but it is commonly underestimated just how far 3 hops is. Tests carried out by the RWAF show that 3 hops from an average sized rabbit covers 6-7 feet!

If you choose a hutch for your pet it should only be used as a shelter and not permanent living space. There should be 24 hour access to a secure attached run of at least 8" x 4". These recommendations are the minimum requirements you must meet in order to re-home from Buddies. If you have not already purchased a set-up for your rabbits please call or email us for advice and recommendations.

If you meet all the above requirements and would like to take the next step towards adopting your new rabbits please fill out the Adoption Questionnaire and we will get back to you ASAP
